I know I've said some of this before but just bare with me. Ok, so the CRBC is the biggest reining show in Canada and with the CRBC is the futurity, the Western Canada Affiliate Finals that you must qualify for, and Anciliry classes that anyone can enter.
Now, I just filled out the form and I'm going to be competeing in 9 classes. Some from the Ancilary and some from the Wes. Can. Finals. The beauty of it is that I only have to do 2 runs! This is because some are run conncurently.
My first run will count for: NRHA Ltd. Non Pro WSTN CDA NRHA AFF FINALS-NRHA Ltd. Non Pro NRHA Non Pro $1000 added NRHA Int. Non Pro WSTN CDA NRHA AFF FINALS-NRHA Non Pro WSTN CDA NRHA AFF FINALS-NRHA Non Pro Saddle Series WSTN CDA NRHA AFF FINALS-NRHA Int. Non Pro.
Then my other run counts for: WSTN CDA NRHA AFF FINALS-NRHA Youth 14-18 NRHA Youth 14-18
Anyways, I'm really really proud of myself for qualifying in all 4 classes I've competed in this year.
Also, I've almost gaurenteed the Youth 14-18 and Ltd. Non Pro title. I'm 3rd in CCRHA for the Non Pro but I haven't competed in it all year so thats really good. If I can get 1st place at the Slide N Spin in it I should be able to get the Reserve title.
If I place in the top 4 in any of the WSTN CDA NRHA AFF FINALS-NRHA I'm going to Oklahoma city to compete against the best in all of Canada and America in my division.

I'm probably gonna take out the NRHA Non Pro $1000 added because its a $100 entry fee and my entry fees are already $680.

Thanks JJ. hehe, oh be prepared for a MAJOR post about it. but its a month away still, I'm going crazy waiting.
Ok so I was going back and forth with weather I should enter it or not so I let my parents decide and I am entering it. My dad say's he'll pay for the intermediate ones so that will help a little but I'm stil looking at like $600.
Anyways, I very doubt I'll win the Non Pro. Theres gonna be some of Canada's best Non Pro horses there and non pro is the step right below professional. Its like the equivalent to the 3rd highest dressage level in comparison to difficulty (odviously they're greatly different and likely difficult in different ways, thats just the best example I have to help you all understand the difficulty level). It has the same prizes as the Open (proffessional class in reining)!
Anyways, I'm super luck I'm about to knock out so many classes in only 2 or 3 runs. I REALLY hope I can go in there and get like a 75 but I know theres no chance of that ever happening with Shadow. But man, you have NO idea how badly I want to win all my classes. Especially the saddle series if I qualify. You dont know if you qualify for it until you get there so i entered it and if it turns out that I don't I get my $50 back. But I REALLY REALLY want to win that saddle more than anything!
I'm also really excited for the Slide N Spin because the Non Pro is $2000 added!

WOW that is SO AMAZING cassie.
and if its 3 top level then That is FLAT AMAZING. becuase like in the third top test you are doing like 15 plus, tepi accross the diaganal so like you have from like M-F to do like 15 flying changes every step.
and you are doing at least 4 canter pirouettes and ya its difficult but ya i wouldnt put it past you cassie.

Ya, its deffinatly a challenge. Its a bit different because in dressage the higher the level the more difficult maneuvers are added, but in reining, even the green and begginer classes must do the same maneuvers as the pros. It gets more difficult in reining by judging each maneuver more difficultly. If you guys want, I can find a video on youtube of a pattern that would win green or rookie, and score it how it would be in a Non Pro class and tell you how it would need changing to get a 0 for the maneuver because I think unless you've competed for a while, people dont have an understanding of what the judges look for and how 2 sets of circles can both look great but 1 can be a -1/2 and one a +1/2. If you dont care and dont want me to thats ok to.

ya it is differant but in other aspects its the same.
the moves are differant and the possition of the horses body but the goal is the same.
and there both hard in there own way like dressage your are trying to be as perfect as possible and make it look like the horse is doing it all on his own.
were as raining (around here) they are looking at how loose the rains can be like through a sliding stop and how well they listen to your leg and seat. (i dont really no about when you get into the top dogs like cassie but im sure she will tell us) *nudges cassie* LOL

www.youtube.com/watch?v=brKakuDracwOk, I was hoping to do this with a random persons video but I can't find any decent, full length ones so I'll have to use mine. This is me and Shadow in April I believe. I've never been to a show this big before but I'm going to tell you what needs to be improved for me to win ok. Stop, left rollback-could be 0, her rollback was poor, she needs to lift up off her front end as she turns. common misconception is that a rollback is half a spin, its not, its lifting entierly off the ground with the front end as the horse is truning on its hind end. Her rollbacks need improvment. Stop, right rollback- 1/2, she came out of the ground. Stop back up- 0 Spins-both sets would score 0, they need to be a bunch faster for me to get even a +1/2. To win I'll probably need at least a +1/2 on each set. Right circles and lead change- they would get a 0. The fast circles look a lot faster in person (I know because I've watched other peoples runs then watched them on camera and it looks way slower). Notice the speed transition, its really really important that the transition is instant and dramatic. All I can do is hum and I'd like to get her both a little bit faster in her large circles and a little bit slower in her small. The head change needs to be less noticable to get any points. Circles are the most difficult maneuver to gain points and the easiest to lose them so I'll probably be fine with a 0 but a +1/2 would be more desierable. Left circles and lead change- 0 again, basically the same comments as I just said. You can tell shes tiring by her speed. Thats a huge thing that the judges see that isn't captured on film, I'm really pushing her on with my legs and voice. I need to get her to the point where she's going to run without any command besides me letting her. Sliding stop-would be a 0 or depending on the judge, a +1/2 To win, I'm going to need to be +1/2 everything, and probably +1 on certian thing. Brian says shes capable of +1 stops so I'm really gonna have to focus on me riding the stops in the show ring. Rollbacks and spins are our downfall. Hopefully I'll be able to get +1/2 on them but its doubtfull. Her circles I should be able to +1/2. Anyways, any questions about why something would get a certian score or anything is welcome.

its been a LONG time since I have done reining or even seen a score card. but with us these were really little shows basicly for fun but I thought I remember them giving out hole number scores, like 1 2 3 and stuff.
but any way in dressage 0 is that you missed the movement all togather. so how does the scoring work for the shows you go to?

You cant get 2 or 3 in reining. You can get - 1 1/2, -1, -1/2, 0, +1/2, +1, +1 1/2. 0 means you did it correct which means in the right frame with the right head set, and at the right speed. If you look at the video, those spins are 0 but could also be -1/2 with some judges because of the speed. If you miss a maneuver you get a score of 0. A score of 0 means you didn't get a score on the pattern, also meaning disqualified. its different than getting a 0 on teh maneuver score. If you get all 0 then you'll get a 70. You can't miss a maneuver and get a score.
