Ok, I would almost always grap the saddle horn when I a would gallop or lope. Well I've gotten better! But now sometimes when were galloping I sometimes find myself holding it if I feel like i'm gonna tumble o or something if he stumbles. Is that ok to do that?

Its ok, but its better not to. What I do is I have split reins so I either grab the reins further down or I'll just let my hand hang.

When Shadow is doing a run down for a sliding stop sometimes she'll take off and I have to go to 2 hands and bring her down. I can feel when shes gonna stop bad and bounce me out but her rundown but I try really hard not to grab teh horn. for me if I have something in my hand I wont feel temped to grab the saddle so maybe try holding a tennis ball or something, if your really gonna fall you can drop the ball and grab the saddle horn. Working on you balance should help to. Take you feet out of teh sturups and walk and trot (only if your comfortable trotting without them). Work your way up. ALso, your sturups might be to long, try shortening them

Ya bareback helps lots with balance. I like riding without sturups. I take my feet out when my shins start to hurt.
